forgot to mention that it's the widelands-build18-win32 build running on 32-bit Windows 7.

This bug might already have been fixed - we did some deep changes in the graphics system since Build18.

We would need some testing with a current development build

They are only available for 64-bit at the moment though, but if there is enough demand, Tino might try to get this to build as 32 bit again.

thanks for the information.

i would be happy to test a 32-bit dev build once it's available.

do you have any information on how this bug can be triggered/avoided? grateful if you could also point me to related bugs. thanks.

Bug 1202133 looks similar, though not exactly the same.

About the minimap: This looks like bug 1225944. I wonder why it looks like that, since the fix has been released in build 18.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to trigger that. Have you played the tutorial again to see if it is reproducible?

The symptoms look like the texture cache has removed still used surfaces. This bug is defintively fixed at trunk where the rendering systems is completely different. Setting to fixcommitted until it resurfaces.

saving the game and reloading should reset the bug for a while.

have you tried the current nightlies? They will probably just work on your system.

more info: apart from being all-white, the backgrounds and buttons sometimes show random textures when mouse-overed. this can probably be explained by the texture cache issue you mentioned.

this does seem to be the only get-around, for now.

if i am not mistaken, only 64-bit Windows nightlies are available. my system is 32-bit. any plan to build 32-bit nightlies?

we had them before, but it became troublesome for Tino to provide them. I cannot remember from the top of my head what the problem was.

i played the campaigns instead. it all went well in the Barbarians 01 map. the bug surfaced near the end of 02 map when a few workers started turning into white rectangles. that was 4 to 5 hours into the game. i then brought up the Options dialog, which was already all white, found and pressed the Save button, type something with the keyboard and pressed enter to save the game.
