Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Global Keyboard Shortcuts.
2. Select the plasmashell KDE Component.
3. Customize "Activate Application Launcher Widget" keyboard shortcut (Apply the settings).
4. Restart the system.

What Happens:
Customized setting is reset to default.

What is expected:
Able to pull up the Application Launcher with the customized Global Shortcut.

Temporary workaround:
Right click the Application Launcher Icon and select "Application Launcher Settings..." from the context menu, customize the keyboard shortcut.

I tried askubuntu, but they deleted my question as off-topic because Kubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet with Plasma 5 haven't been released.

Aditional info is that this is not an upgrade, but a fresh install.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc is being overwritten with the default shortcut (alt-f1) immediately after new login to plasma5; it however, works works for an entire session when not logging out. Other shortcuts worked permanently for me.

I can confirm this annoying bug. Especially it is a big issue for me that I have to deactivate the Shift+Ctrl+C shortcut for "Activate Icon Widget" that conflict with the default settings to Copy selected text in Konsole.

Is there an easy workaround besides making the ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc read only?

I can confirm this bug in 16.04. Had a hard time finding it as i only changed this shortcut and searched for resetting shortcuts in general, but only now noticing that other shortcuts work fine.
Setting the ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc read-only doesn't work for me btw, the content stays fine, but the shortcut doesn't work nevertheless.
