ElementaryOS Freya Evolution new mail window is black and unreable

ElementaryOS Freya's Evolution has some issue with black preview and new mail window. Preview window can be fixed with this

but it does not fix new mail window.

This is definitely a bug in evolution. It's setting it's window background color based on the wrong widget. I can't implement the workaround because we rely on entries having a transparent background to blend in on different backgrounds.

Can a more recent version of Evolution be made available by the Elementary team for Freya? Or we have to wait for Ubuntu to bump Evolution to a recent version?

The fact is that the available version of evolution in Trusty's repositories is evolution (3.10.4-0ubuntu2) while Evolution's latest release is already in 3.16. I have not been able to fix this for Freya even by trying workarounds that still install 3.10.4 such as:
```sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fta/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install evolution
```
I'll keep you posted if I fix this because Geary does not match yet my requirements (PGP and emails in text format) and I am looking for cleaner alternatives to Thunderbird. I feel more comfortable with Evolution rather than Kontact, Sylpheed or Claws.
