Bug Description

Hi all,
I'm studying Z + jets events with the FxFx merging (up to 2 extra jets).
I have a problems: if I use a set of PDFs non built in aMC@NLO (e.g. NNPDF-3.0, dataset number = 260000) I got something like:

Program received signal SIGSEGV: Segmentation fault - invalid memory reference.

Backtrace for this error:
#0 0x7F80AE12D2F7
#1 0x7F80AE12D8FE
#2 0x7F80ACB8D69F
#3 0xB24D7C

#7 0x476914
#8 0x477B8C
#9 0x7F80ACB79D5C
#10 0x413CBC

while, If I use a built in PDF library everything works fine. Moreover, If I study Z + jets with only 1 extra jets aMC@NLO works fine also with a a set of PDFs non built in it.
Any clues?

Thanks,
Francesco

Ciao Francesco,
I have tried to run with your cards and lhapdf6.1.5 on our SL6 cluster, and it terminated successfully the first step (setting up grid) after ~ 2.5 hours
So it looks like i am not able to reproduce your error (unless it happened at a later step)...
One thing you can do is to try to do a
make clean
and edit the
Source/make_opts file adding -fbacktrace to the FFLAGS
also, you have to remove or comment the
strip madevent_mintMC
line from
SubProcesses/makefile_fks_dir
in order to have more debugging informations...

Let me know what you get.
Cheers,

Marco

Ciao Marco,
it's really really weird because now I got a new error (at the same point where I got the previous one):

^[[1;31mCommand "import /afs/cern.ch/work/f/fgiuli/public/MG5_aMC_v2_2_3/myprocess_card.dat" interrupted in sub-command:
"output Zjj_NLO_lxbatch" with error:
IOError : [Errno 110] Connection timed out: 'proc_prefix.txt'

If I use the developers releases of aMC@NLO 2.2.3, everything it is fine (also using an external PDF set).
I really don't know

Cheers,
Fra

Ciao Francesco,
can you check the new 2.3 version if it is still bugged?
Thanks,

Marco

Ciao Marco,
I completely forgot to answer... Anyway I can confirm that the new version is not bugged.

Best,
Fra
