Bug Description

I just imaged a Dell Precision M3800 Developer Edition with UHD (4K) display. After installation, I apt-get update'd and apt-get upgrade'd and now see an issue with the login screen. (See attached picture.) No customization was done other than doing a standard upgrade (none of the used repositories were changed).

Note that upon login, the problem goes away. But logging back out, it's back. So I'm pretty sure it's a lightdm issue.

Also, a scaling factor of 2 is used.

Since it's likely a lightdm issue, maybe try rolling back lightdm and see if it goes away? We started with lightdm 1.10.0-0ubuntu3

Have a look at /var/log/lightdm/x-*-greeter.log

affects: lightdm → unity-greeter (Ubuntu)

A patch for this was included in the factory image that hasn't yet been merged into unity-greeter. I'll mark this as a duplicate of that bug.
