offset kernel, can't boot

Bug Description

i upgraded online from 14.04 to 14.10. all worked well. then i tried to clean my system using the symptic package manager and delete old kernels. then i tried to update to 3.19 kernel. then i could not reboot due to offset kernel panic.

Are you only getting a panic with the 3.19 version of the upstream kernel? How about with the stock kernel that comes with Utopic?

When I power up my computer and allow it to boot itself I get the error message. every time. If i press f2 and and choose other ubuntu options Ican log in to any of the 3.14 or 3.16 options. the 3.19 does not work.

what do comments #1 and #2 mean? is there any way i can repair this issue?

I am not sure. I have to press f2 and log in using what appears to be
safe mode with the 3.16 kernel. i cannot select the 3.19 kernel and log
in. It is available, but not effective.
