checkmarks on ubuntu software sources, etc. disappeared

Since three days ago all my checkmarks on boxes in ubuntu software/other software/updates disappeared. so did all the checkmarks beside all the ppa that i added. software and updates cannot be changed or edited.

repository settings cannot be changed and notices for software updates no longer pop up.

That's weird. j de lima, at a terminal please enter "apport-collect 1416588" (without quotes) to attach the relevant files.

something really wierd happened. now the ssd on which ubuntustudio
trusty is installed wont boot. i had to put aside the troubleshooting
and am now using my dualboot (ubuntu&mac) mcp as i have work deadlines
to meet. will get back to troubleshooting as soon as i cangrab some time.

below is the output of apport collect:

please note though that i am using the ubuntustudio live dvd as i cannot boot from the sda (the ssd on which trusty tahr is installed) where the trouble started.

this is the problem now. i tried boot repair and ff is the paste bin

The command is apport-collect, with a hyphen.

Anyway, this was not a bug in software-properties, but in the Gtk+ theme.
