Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.19 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

It's a new pc, so it was a fresh install. I had the same issue with archlinux and linux mint. It affect 3.12 -3.16 kernels.

Installing 3.19 seems to fix the problem, about a day without disconnection. I'll add the kernel-fixed-upstream tag.

If any additional information is needed and can be useful, feel free to ask.

Thank you for helping

AntoninoArcudi, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux 1416172

Thank you for your understanding.

I have the same problem with the 3.16.0-37-generic kernel.
I could not try with the 3.19 series, on which the X server failed to work.
Wired Ethernet works well.
