Bug Description
I have an ASUS AC66R Router with a USB-connected hard drive. I can access this hard drive's files from my TV and from my Android devices. I was also able to access it with Pear OS v7. I recently installed Elementary OS (admittedly it is the unstable version) and while the File Manager can see the router OK it will not open the hard rive and folders. The Router name has a red X on the folder icon. I tried Smb4K also, but it cannot mount the device either.

Correction. Looks like Smb4k has solved my issue as the networked drive drive now appears on my list of attached devices and I can copy files to and from it. But it is still inaccessible via the Network -> Entire Network section of File Manager navigation.
