Bug Description
The current repository version (1.7.2) has multiple issues with signatures due to automatic line wrapping, line end characters and handling of multi-part message.
Recent Enigmail nightly-builds (1.8a) have addressed many of these issues (and improved status message display and usability).
Enigmail is a valuable tool for a wide range of end users. Average users depend on repository versions. Request the team rapidly adopt the upstream fixes and support the upstream developers to encourage next stable release.
Tested current nightly-build of Enigmail 1.8a1pre on Ubuntu 14.04 Gnome with Thunderbird 31.4 with good results.

PGP signed email received from Enigmail 1.8a1pre shows a valid signature when viewed in KMail 4.14.3, whereas for email from Enigmail 1.7.2 sent from the same address and signed with the same key KMail reports, "Warning: The signature is bad." I still have other correspondants using Enigmail with whom to test this update.
