Bug Description

1. do "apt-get install openarena"
2. play open arena for a while (in fullscreen) and notice the FSP is quite good
3. close open arena and open system::preferences::screensaver
4. select screensaver "busy spheres"
5. launch open arena again (still fullscreen)
6. the game stutters/lags to the point that it's unplayable

This bug may or may not repro on machines with other non-intel graphics cards (I only tried on one machine).
I have a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (display adapter) called "GMA X3100" in this machine.

I can still repro this bug with all apt-get updates as of today (15 oct 2007).

Easy fix: don't run a 3D screensaver at the same time as the game. I think this is a non-issue as people do not normally keep the screensaver preferences window open. It sounds like perhaps openarena is reverting to software rendering. Are you also running compiz? That would be a more legitimate bug.

Since this report have a long time without activity, could you check (if is possible) in latest version included in Karmic if this issue is still happening? Thanks in advance.

As I mentioned in march, it doesn't repro in Jaunty. I also tried both karmic and lucid now and it works well on both. I'd say this issue has been fixed.
