I was doing the usual update (apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade) when I first had a window "System program problem detected" and then "Crash report" saying
Sorry, a problem occurred while installing software.
Package: nvidia-331-uvm

I can also mention that I have been skipping the restarts for a while --- I don't know if that could cause this. (I'm running kernel 3.13.0-37, and I think the system was trying to build 3.13.0-44).

The STDOUT/STDERR said
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 3.13.0-44-generic (x86_64)
Consult /var/lib/dkms/nvidia-331-uvm/331.113/build/make.log for more information.
but that file was not there.
