vivid daily iso installer crashes

I was trying to install the nex ubuntu version - 15.04, and ubiquity crashes just after inserting my name and password when the message Installing to disk appears.

I've been doing some debugging and the problem it's not with ubiquity, but with the package console-setup.
When installing it (and the daily image has the same problem) /etc/default/keyboard it's not a file with the keyboard configuration but a character device file.
