Bug Description

While it should be the other way around.

The file names are way more important that the file type and should be featured prominently when resizing the window.

Why can't I resize the columns anyway?

The linked branch allows resizing of the name column and gives spare space to the name column by preference. Note that if the name column is manually resized then it no longer autosizes, even if the path is changed, until the list view is recreated by switching to another view and back. This is a feature of Gtk.ListView. The name column is given a minimum width equal to the preferred column with in GSettings.
