The title says it all: Laptop froze when power cord was pulled out accidentally during resume from sleep.

The screen was black with the mouse pointer in it. control+alt+F2 or other attempts to get to a TTY did not work.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.19 kernel[0].

Thanks Joseph, I would try that, if you could point to a tutorial or explain the means to fix the booting issue when choosing the non-default kernel from grub that the macbook pro 11,1 has, as explained here:
