no synaptics tab in gnome-mouse-properties

Bug Description

There is no tab for touchpad in gnome-mouse-properties. dmesg says that touchpad is detected. I do not have xorg.conf file.

could you please specify which version of ubuntu and gnome-control-center are you running, i'm using gutsy right now and can see the touchpad tab

as you can see in the screenshot, the touchpad tab is indeed present.

Apparently, you need to have xorg.conf and in it an entry for synaptics touchpad for it to show up in gnome-mouse-properties.
