Bug Description
This is how sublimetext does it out of the box, and it's awesome! leaving "show white space" on all the time is very distracting, but it's also annoying to turn it back on if you want to quickly see what characters are actually making up a chunk of whitespace.
Instead of all-or-nothing, scratch should do what sublime does and show the whitespace characters only of the text currently selected (if any)
