Bug Description
Mint 17 Qiana 64bit & Mint 17.1 Rebecca 64bit, Cinnamon
The 'Quit' button always shutsdown the system but if I use 'Logout' buton and then after I get the login greeter try and shutdown using the button in top-right of greeting display, at least 50% time the shutdown hangs at a black screen. There is no glimpse of a getty login that briefly appears on normal shutdown, and no mint logo appears.
When I get the shutdown hang, I can open a virtual terminal by pressing ctrl-alt-1 at the blank screen and get a login prompt. I can login as 'root' and then run 'shutdown -h now' which causes the normal Mint shutdown to resume.
I use 'logout' because that's the only way I can ensure the mdm PostSession script runs which backups data automatically to a NAS. 'Quit' kills the script shortly after it starts.
This behaviour occurred on Mint17 and is still there after recent upgrade to 17.1.
