Wide black bar accross screen for i810 with latest Gutsy - Regression

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810

Install Gutsy tribe 5 on i810 based Toshiba i810 based desktop. No black bar visible.

Update system to latest gutsy
#aptitude update
#aptitude dist-upgrade

After performing update, and starting system, a black bar, 256 pixels wide, appears on screen 256 pixels from top of screen. Appears at same number of pixels from top, irrespective of resolution.

Tested at:
640x480
800x600
1024x768
1280x1024
1440x1050

To verify that a hardware error had not appeared when I updated, I re-installed Gutsy on another hard drive. Swapping hard drives back and forth, the problem only appears with the most recent updated Gutsy (post-tribe 5).

I will provide
1) Pictures demonstrating with and without black bar.
2) Output from my hwinfo script detailing as much hardware and log file information from system showing fault, and system not showing fault. Please get back to me if you need any more info.
