Bug Description

Ctrl + drag does not select multiple files or groups of files. It just acts as if crtl key was not pressed, moving files around.

In Files, Ctrl + drag should select multiple groups of files (rubber-banding) provided it is not initiated on an icon.

In Icon View rubberbanding is initiated on whitespace

In List View and Column View it is initiated on the name field.

If you initiate Ctrl + drag on an icon then it should drag that file (and any other co-selected files).

Please confirm whether or not you are getting this behaviour

When I try to Ctrl + drag it just tries to drag & drop a (non-existent) file, even if nothing is selected.
It's neither working in Icon view when starting to drag on whitespace nor in list view on the name field.

It works in Icon view without using Ctrl but then I cant add files to a selection.

Unable to select multiple files, overall weird behaviour and mouse icon changes to half an image and two arrows, left and right. Multiple file icons selection using keyboard does not work right either.

mgarridosan: The problem with the mouse icon (cursor) is probably related to bug 1390625 which is not a Files bug.
Could you be more specific about "overall weird behaviour"?

nuklijam: I am now sometimes getting file drag starting on white space instead of rubberbanding - but not consistently. I'll look into into.
