Bug Description
I was working on my computer when all of the sudden the screen went blank like it normally would after the lock screen comes on from inactivity and eventually goes blank. However, it didn't go blank from inactivity but instead just went blank randomally. It would not resume the back light upon movement of the mouse or keyboard. You could barely see the desktop and my bluetooth headphones were still playing the music I had in the background. I had to do a hard reset because I couldn't the screen well enough to run any sort of diagnostics. After reboot the screen back light started to display again without any problem. At first I thought it might be a hardware issue but now I believe it to be a software issue.

Marty Sonke, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please provide the full computer model as noted on the sticker of the computer itself (not from the Bug Description)?
