Bug Description
There is a long standing bug with xfce4's power manager through Precise and Trusty, not showing the icon and power settings telling that the power manager does not respond, offering to start the manager, but no avail other than having multiple non working xfce4-power-manger instances running. Upstream bug is XFCE4 bug 8809 ( https:/
Please, backport this fix to trusty-updates or at least to the ppa! On battery powered equipment this bug is pretty severe.

You're right, we should probably provide packages for at least Trusty. /launchpad. net/~xubuntu- dev/+archive/ ubuntu/ xubuntu- staging
You can meanwhile use packages from this PPA (at your own risk, as always), but we'll look into providing stable 1.4.2 packages for the 4.12 PPA too.
