Bug Description

Let's say I'm a student new to Ubuntu and want to learn. This small distro is great!

But I can't install some basic stuff, e.g. Midnight Commander. `apt-get install mc` fails.

And, worse, `sudo add-apt-repository` fails too.

How do I install other packages?

`sudo apt-get install software-properties-common` fixes the latter, and it looks like it's a very small package.

Please consider adding these repositories

deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty universe multiverse
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trust-updates universe multiverse

They make it much easier to get started!

Now I can install mc etc.
