Bug Description
upgrading from kubuntu 14.04 to 14.10,
got a pop-up window saying "could not install 'grub-common'" and
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
this was followed by another opo-up windows that said: "could not install the upgrade. your system could be in an unstable state.
a recovery will run m=now (dpkg --configure -a)."
At the same time I got a separate request to restart the system.
