James Cobban, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, the mainline kernel is not a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. For more on this, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds#Does_the_kernel_team_support_the_mainline_kernel_builds.3F . Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. If you are interested in learning more about software repositories and Ubuntu, check https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories .

Changed in fglrx-installer (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

The only reason I got this problem was because I followed explicit
instructions from the kernel group to install the 3.18-rc5 kernel. Now
my graphics is screwed up. Even removing the 3.18-rc5 kernel has not
fixed that. Your team created this problem, so I would appreciate some
assistance at fixing it.
