Search in files does not work with gcj

After installation of the eclipse package on feisty, the search (in the menu: 'Search'->'Search') function always returns 0 matches. I followed the guide here - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EclipseIDE to move to the sun java 6 and the search works fine.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 RC or later?
