Bug Description

I have installed Gutsy Gibbon (7.10) on a machine with an i810 graphics card and installed it with Tribe 1. It was working perfectly. About a month ago (can't remember exact date) I did updates on it and it has become unusable. What has occurred is that from about 1/3rd of the way down the screen to about 1/2 of the way down the screen is no video displayed. (i.e. a big black band). No mouse cursor occurs in this void, nothing. If I press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to go to console mode the screen is fine there but going back to graphics it has a problem - i.e. it has something to do with xserver.

It hasn't been fixed in last couple of weeks with updates so logging. Not sure when fault originated, but after Tribe 1 (don't use machine much).
