Changing audio balance corrupts volume indicator

Bug Description

Al entrar en la congituración de sonido y mover el control de "Balance" a la derecha se apaga el icono de audio ubicado en el panel superior. No importa si el Volumen de salida esta en el 100% el icono se apaga.

Still present in Freya. When I move the audio 'balance' slider to the right, the volume control shows some odd behaviour. The icon is set to mute and the slider does not work properly.
