Thank you for the bug report. Also, please answer these questions:

Is this crash reproducible? If so, which are the steps that lead to it?
Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which firefox extensions do you have installed?

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks,
Justin M. Wray

Hi,

1) Random means random.. but it tends to be when I'm not using the browser, and am using a different program. Recently, thats been a Gambas application or a gnome-terminal.

2) Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31
3) Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0_11

4) Lots. Fasterfox, Firebug (disabled), google toolbar (now removed, installed at time of crash report), Mouse Gestures, Page Addict, Proffessor x, Stumble Upon, Web Developer and X-Ray.

Thank you Johnathon for submitting this report.

Unfortunately this report lacks information we need to investigate it
further. Of course this is not your fault, but the file you attached to
your report doesn't provide useful information for us (we need the core
dump of the crash). For this reason, could you please try to obtain a
backtrace by following the instructions on [1], or upload the *full*
crash report that probably was generated during the crash and that
should be located at /var/crash/ to [2].

Please disable all you third party extensions and try to reproduce the
crash. If you find a way to reproduce it please don't doubt to submit
it.

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks in advance.

H. Montoliu

This was the crash report generated to /var/crash ;)

I'll look at disabling my extensions...

This is just a me too.

I have been having similar problems regarding Firefox randomly crashing in Feisty when running Zimbra. I'm terrible at debugging, but I can do things if people tell me how...I've got a number of extensions installed as well. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help debug.

Thanks Johnathon, but that crash report isn't enough to extract usable information.

Please if the crash is reproducible try to follow the hints I posted in my last email [1].

Thank you mlissner for your input.

Please check this post [1] and follow the hints to obtain a debug backtrace of you crash.

Since your crash may or may not be the same crash Johnathon had it would be better for us if you open a new crash report.

Thank you in advance.

I have not been able to reliably reproduce the crash on any one thing. It is still occurring at various times, still seemingly random, though now at longer intervals than before. Disabling extensions seemed to have no effect, but I've removed a couple since then, which has probably helped...

please run firefox like:

strace -e open -f &> /tmp/strace.log

and once it crashes, please upload the strace.log (if its too big please provide the last 10000 lines or so).

Thanks,
 - Alexander
