link to project downloads from the project home page

If the project has downloadable releases on Launchpad, there should be a button on the project page as there is for reporting bugs, asking questions, etc. At the moment there is a link in the action bar but this is too obscure for what is a fairly important operation.

If the project isn't hosting downloads on Launchpad then the button could be greyed out or absent to avoid disappointment.

The original bug comment is a valid usability issue.

The second comment, with the IRC transcript, isn't valid. All download files for all series are available from the "Download project files" link on the project main page. I cannot even reproduce the steps mentioned in that comment.

Martin's final suggestion to add file download links from the main project page is under evaluation.

Two other issues to be fixed:

1) If no files are available for download, the project administrator is still presented with a 'Delete' button and no message indicating there are no files.

2) The status block of information that used to be on the right side of the page is now on the left. mpt says it just needs to be deleted.

At the moment there are four big buttons on a project's page, and at typical window sizes there's no room for a fifth without it wrapping oddly. This will likely involve removing one of the existing big buttons, or some reorganization of the project page.

At what I consider "typical window size", i.e. the narrowest that launchpad currently allows, the buttons already wrap, and I do not find it's all that odd.

That sounds great, except that I think you should only link files from
the most recent releases of that series.
