Bug Description

I tried to send a vcard via SMS from another phone to the Ubuntu Phone. It seems to get lost. No indication or anything shows up.

----------UX comment------------

Sending and receiving v-cards should be possible through all available channels, e.g. IM, SMS/MMS.

No it's not. Received vCards are still siltently discarded.

It works for me when sharing a contact from my iPhone. Shows up in messaging-app correctly and I can save into my address-book. It requires MMS to be working so it's possible you are having MMS issues (requires data connection) ? Can you receive photos? What build are you on?

I tested with rtm build 242.

Try sending text along with the vcard attachment. It's possible your operator is stripping the vcard attachement. Also please provide the output of .cache/upstart/nuntium.log

In some counties you might have to subscribe sending and receiving MMS. Would be good to check if your service provider has to give you a special authorisation.

Yeah, we don't use MMS at all over here in Europe. Most people don't have the MMS gateway configured. vcards are usually sent via SMS here.

No, the operator doesn't strip it, as it works with all other phones I have here.

nuntium.log doesn't print anything when the phone receives a vcard via SMS.

Hi, nuntium is only used to receive MMS.
I didn't know it was possible to send vCards over SMS.
Can you run the following command and check if you get anything from ofono?

dbus-monitor --system sender=org.ofono
