Please remove viewcvs source from Gutsy

Binary package hint: viewcvs

Viewcvs was replaced by viewvc in Debian (sid) a while back. It should be replaced in Ubuntu, too.

Viewvc now provides the viewcvs binary package as a transitional package. Please remove the viewcvs source packagefrom Gutsy.

viewcvs-query has no rdepends.

viewvc is in Gutsy. Is there a compelling reason why viewcvs should be removed?

You sure about that? It's not in my gutsy, nor does packages.ubuntu.com know about it: http://packages.ubuntu.com/viewvc

Once it does make it into the repository, viewcvs should be removed for all the standard reasons when a project name-changes (do we keep gaim even though pidgin is in the repository?).

This is why p.u.c didn't know about it. It knows about binaries.

There's a new revision in Debian that fixes the fail to build problem. I've
asked to have it synced into Gutsy.

Viewvc binaries (including the viewcvs transitional package) are now published in Gutsy.
