deleting an account does not remove contacts/calendar

If you have created a Google account and instructed it to sync Contacts or Calendar, when you delete the account you are prompted to keep or delete the data. If you select delete, the data does not get deleted. Sometimes it works but it's intermittent.

Steps:
- create 2 google accounts, one for personal and one for work
- enable contact syncing on both
- verify contacts show up correctly in address book after sync finishes
- now delete one of the online accounts
- when prompted, select to remove the data

Expected results:
- database is deleted and contacts are removed from address book

Actual results:
- database is not deleted and contacts remain in address book
