Even I am facing the same problem. I installed Ubuntu using Wubi.
After selecting Ubuntu on the menu screen, when it comes to login screen, (asking for username and password) ,the mouse doesnt move.
So I have to restart it again.
But sometimes it work correct also. I dont know what can be the reason.
Please if anybody has idea, please let me know.

THanks

I can confirm it. In lenevo laptop it causes problem, its a ubuntu problem i guess not wubi.

extra note:
9.04 stuck if power cord was not attached(most time) in Dell Vostro1510(india).
Now its working:-).

This is kernel based problem i guess or something. A change in kernel in 9.10 got mine fixed so i assume it to be kernel related.

But the latest kernel to be defaulted in lucid has this problem again . :-( Kernel 2.6.32.

Note:
Its specific to dell vostro 1510.
Can give specification in required.

In lenevo y series 9.10 gets stuck...

If so, could you please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
