Bug Description

the buttons on the side of my mouse (Logitech MX500) do nothing when I am using
mozilla-firefox. The "normal" behavior in mozilla-firefox (window's version)
and IE is that they go forward and backward in history. I found this hack for
gentoo: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Mouse_Nav_Buttons that accomplishes the
same thing.

http://www.logitech.com/lang/images/0/851.gif <--here is an image of my mouse,
the buttons I am referring to are the ones on the left side of the mouse.

Another side note: I was looking through xev to see what events they generated,
it seems that the smaller button on the left side of the mouse was generating
the same event (same button #) as the right click button.

I have the same problem.

I am using Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon" with a 'Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer' mouse.

The navigation buttons on the left of the mouse, for forward/back does not work.
They're mapped wrong.

The back-button does paste the text in clipboard.
The forward-button does right-click.
