I don't understand this issue. The installation guide covers installing the clients (e.g., python-neutronclient) later. Please provide more details.

Looks like for Debian, the packages contain the client? Can any one confirm?

Each chapter explicitly installs the clients because of consistency issues with dependencies in the past.

Matt, I'm sorry, but this is really *stupid* reasoning. So, because we had the issue in the packages 3 years ago, we shall, forever and ever and ever... repeat the same "fix" in the docs to go around a packaging issue? This makes absolutely no sense. Instead, we shall just add, at the beginning of the guide, something like this:

"To reach any OpenStack service, you will need to have the corresponding client installed. For example, for the Identity service, you need to do apt-get install python-keystoneclient, if it isn't installed yet. You can also install the meta package which will install all of the clients at once using apt-get install openstack-clients (and I would warmly welcome this as the recommended way, because it is so much more simple...)."

Then we can get rid of all the clients install everywhere in the doc.

Therefore, I'm tagging this bug as wontfix.
