Bug Description

Binary package hint: tracker

I have upgraded to gutsy. I have let the tracker daemon run for a few days to be sure it has indexed all my emails and documents, and I have ensured in the tracker setup tool that it should be indexing my Evolution emails.

I have an email from a particular person, but when I search on their last name, I get no results in tracker.

Does tracker miss all persons or just a particular one?

Now I'm not getting results for anything. Have tried my own name (first and last) as well as some others that should be very obvious...

That works fine here, does it works if you delete the tracker db and start indexing again?

Is that just deleting ~/.local/share/tracker/data/common.db ?

How do I then restart indexing? I'm now getting this message when I try the search tool:

Process /usr/bin/trackerd exited with status 0

Sounds like I need to just start again with tracker. Can someone show me how to do that?

I would wait for 0.6.3 which should be around monday next week

0.6.2 has a few bugs (incuding only finding the first person and not multiple ones in emails)

    - Removed, fixed upstream.
  * debian/patches/03-system_ioprio.patch: not needed anymore, as tracker
now tries ioprio system syscalls if available.
  * debian/patches/01_from_upstream_fix_stemming.patch:
    - Added, fixes language selection.

  * debian/control: Promote o3read to a dependency. That way, updates will get
it, too, and we avoid making it a dependency of ubuntu-desktop. With the
external dependency we can avoid installing the internal code copy.
