Bug Description

(r135)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a single type alarm to ring in the next 5 minutes.
2. Wait for the alarm to ring.
3. After dismissing the alarm, delete it from the clock app.

Actual behaviour:

Once the alarm's been deleted, it still rings!

Expected behaviour:

Once you delete the alarm, this shouldn't ring anymore.

Thank you for taking the time to report the bug. I need some additional information to understand the bug report correctly.

- Which device and phone image do you use? Is this the ubuntu-rtm channel?
- When the alarm rings, do you dismiss the alarm by pressing "ok"? If so, then I am finding it hard to believe that the alarm rings again considering that it is a single type alarm. When does it ring again (in the next minute)?

@nik90 I believe this is about a repeating alarm, it rings when you disable it in the clock app (can't say I've seen it ringing after it was *deleted* though).

I experienced this bug twice but after the second time I haven't been able to reproduce it.

Answering your questions:

- BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition
- OS Ubuntu 14.10 (r135)
- What I did exactly (alarm previously set up): First, I dismissed the alarm by pressing 'ok'. Then, I opened the Clock app and switched off the alarm. It rang again after a few minutes (I can't tell you how long exactly, but I reckon it was about 5 minutes after). I dismissed it again, went to the Alarms screen, swiped the alarm item to the right to delete it. I had no saved alarms on my screen. After that, it rang again.

Let me know if you need more details.

I cannot reproduce this after deleting; however, i saw this all time when disabling the alarm in clock app for last week. Not sure if its related or a different bug.

The bug about the alarm ringing even when it is disabled is a known issue which occurred due to upstream change in the Ubuntu SDK which wasn't synced yet to indicator-datetime. As a result, indicator-datetime wasn't aware that the alarm was disabled. I have informed charles about this issue and he has a branch https://code.launchpad.net/~charlesk/indicator-datetime/lp-1317861-handle-trigger-valarms-in-ical which fixes this and also a couple of other alarm related issues.

I was caught by surprise when I read the alarm ringing after it was deleted. I will modify this bug report to say it rang after being disabled by the user instead.
