Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

This pdf: http://www.inference.phy.cam.ac.uk/mackay/network.pdf
Renders very badly/bad/poor/poorly rendering quality.

Works fine in other readers.

I haven't been able to test with the latest (gutsy) evince.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. May you be more clear? which part of the pdf doesn't render well? it's a quite large document. A couple of screenshots showing the difference would be nice too, thanks for your report.

Changed in evince:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

Cool Pedro.

Check these screen shots out: The text is grainy/broken on evince.
(No, it's nothing to do with the png encoding of the screenshots I uploaded, the difference is as it looks on my screen)

The evince shots show the incorrect displaying of the document I am refering to.
Even at 200% evince still looks like a inkjet printer quality (pixels missing) versus a laser printer quality in the other readers. (No, this problem is not about printers that print paper, it's just a metaphor.)

Oh, and the entire document has the same problem, not just the pages I send in the screenshot.

I do not know if this is the same...

I have just found that some PDFs are shown quite fuzzy on Evince, like you. I then tried to reload the PDF (Ctrl-R), and the PDF rendered much better. nBasically: start Evince, fuzzy. Reload the doc, good.

Can you try that?

Just an extra note:

Reloading/refreshing (Ctrl-R) does not fix that pdf's rendering for me. (As user hggdh suggested above)

I commented on the dup bug 20310.
