Bug Description

When streaming for example this:
http://www.rozhlas.cz/audio/download/ddur_highogg.m3u
exile ceases to play after some time.
I suspect that it may be caused by low cache (buffer underrun), but there's no possibility to enlarge cache size (pretty troublesome by itself)

Yes, the buffer needs to be configurable and you should be able to view the status of it as well.

It seems this might be the same problem I'm experiencing with Exaile.

Some details on what I'm seeing:
* mp3 streams do work, ogg streams do not
* Playback of ogg streams end at the end of currently playing song. After that, exaile pretends to be playing something (the song title changes to the name of next song and the playback time continues advancing) but the music stops
* At the end of song, exaile stops reading the tcp stream from server. I noticed this when examining the stream with Wireshark: when the song ends, the tcp receive buffer at my computer quickly fills up. After that, the only traffic between the server and my computer is the server querying if it could start sending again and my computer responding that the receive buffer is still full.

100% repeatable. I've tried playing the following stations:
Nectarine http://www.scenemusic.eu/
Kohina http://www.kohina.com/

Exaile 0.2.13
gstreamer-0.10.14
gstreamer-plugins-{gnomevfs,ogg,vorbis}-0.10.14

I have to confirm. Exaile stops playing radio stream every time, when the caption changes. I thaught it tries to download album cover, but I have this function off.

Is it possible to change buffer-size in the sources to try if it will help?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/exaile/+bug/136005 and this bug seem duplicate. Adam, can you please tell how to manually change the buffer size so someone can try to trigger the bug ? Thanks in advance.

I'd believe this has nothing to do with buffer size, but with this bug in gstreamer: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320984

This is pure guesswork, though. But at least the problem I observed was not caused by a receive buffer underrun.

Exaile should already have proper buffering support (on Normal engine at least, Unified doesn't have it yet). A bug in gst seems more likely.

I can't confirm for Exaile at the moment, but Banshee 1.6 beta 2 stops playing ogg radio streams after every track change (I tried changing the playback repeat settings but to no avail). Using Ubuntu 9.10.

Cannot reproduce this issue. I can listen to internet radio streams for hours.
