I noticed that too. For the Gnome Shell it's even worse because there is no icon at all.
Actually, there is one more problem to be fixed. When trying to start qshutdown a second time, the old window should reappear, but it won't.

I will try to find a way to fix these problems, but it might take a bit of time, since I am in the middle of my Bachelor thesis...
This might actually be an issue with Qt, but there are a few programs that solve this in some way, so I will try to figure that out. Shouldn't be much of a problem, just a bit time eating. ;)

For found the issue for the Gnome Shell and will thus switch back to Qt4 for now. The problem for the not reappearing window will also be fixed with the next issue.
As for Unity, I don't have a clue...
The only thing I could do right now is to add an option to remove the icon for good and to dissable hiding the window (only minimizing would be available). But for this I would need some user feedback. Do you think this would be a good option?

I think removing the icon is a good solution for Unity. I usualy run
qshutdown only if i need it.
