Bug Description

I tried to launch Inkscape after updating to Yosemite Beta but it crashed without opening a window.

I tried opening it from the command line and was greeted by this lovely message:

$ ./Inkscape
Warning: AppleCollationOrder setting not found, using AppleLocale.
Setting Language: .UTF-8

(process:15218): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
 Using the fallback 'C' locale.

(inkscape-bin:15218): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: /private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.KyJeYMoZko/org.macosforge.xquartz:0

I tried opening XQuartz first and launching Inkscape from Xterm, both nada.
Then went for the classic reinstall of Inkscape and XQuartz for laughs but nothing changed.
I can use other X11 apps, (ssh X forwarding works fine) so I'm pretty sure my display variable is set correctly.
(set claims it's: DISPLAY=/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.KyJeYMoZko/org.macosforge.xquartz:0 )

Inkscape was working fine before the upgrade so I'm not sure what the deal is.

For those interested:

OS Version: OSX 10.10 (14A388b) - Yosemite Beta 6
Inkscape Version: 0.48.2
XQuartz Version: 2.7.7

Please reinstall XQuartz after upgrading to Yosemite, and then download and install the current Inkscape package for OS X from inkscape.org (Inkscape 0.48.5).

Well..... Yeah that fixed it.

Looks like I never actually ran the updater for Inkscape...
Anyway thanks for the help, I will now proceed to beat my head against the wall of shame.

:-( Running Yosemite 10.10.1 Tried to launch Inkscape, no luck. Reinstalled XQuartz, restarted, tried the latest download version of Inkscape (several times). Took the old version of Inkscape completely off and tried again and still no luck. Working on a project where I need to continue using Inkscape. Help?

Just to be clear. The problem is that when I go to the download page, and click to start the download I get the message that it will start in 5,4,3,2,1,0 seconds but download never seems to commence and is not in my download folder.

Sourceforge.net (where the downloads are hosted) seem to have trouble at the moment, check the site status via their twitter account:
