Bug Description
When trying to copy a directory to the ftp server when the directory already
exists on the server(to overwrite it recursively) I get a permission denied
error then on the server the directory exists but it is now empty and I have to
go and re-copy the contents of the dir back up to the ftp server. So it is
effectivly deleting the directory and its contents and recreating the directory
with nothing in it.
This is reproducible.
The basic operations seem to work ok though like just copying a file up or down,
browsing the ftp servers contents, or putting a fresh dir up with stuff in it,
etc...
ok enough vfs bugs for one night ;)

works fine here. Are you using warty or hoary ? Can you describe what you do
exactly ?
