help.ubuntu.com does not properly attribute authors

Bug Description

help.ubuntu.com like all Ubuntu Doc is licensed under the Creative Commons and at some point instead of listing a historical list of contributors the attribution page instead started linking to a Launchpad Team of current contributors. This does not satisfy the Creative Commons license it is written under because anyone who expires from the team is not being properly attributed.

Benjamin, we have had this debate, a few times now: The people that fall off the active list on launchpad go onto the former members list; An active contributors list is difficult, if not impossible, to be exhaustively accurate and difficult to maintain.

This bug report is duplicate with a previous one, but I might not find the number and set it for several hours.

Where in the CC license is it stated that you need to list individual contributors?

Right but https://help.ubuntu.com/contributors.html does not link to any former members list. I see you said one exists but I cannot see it ?

I see nothing there about listing individual contributors.

Also FWIW Matthew East created that page and was the Ubuntu Doc Project Lead and an attorney. Also it seemed to fit well under two project leads and over nearly eight years.

Now people who founded the Ubuntu Doc Team or were leads of the team are not even attributed? That doesn't sit well and I absolutely do not think it is consistent with the license requirements.

Benjamin,

The contributors.html page has a link to the documentation contributors list. On the documentation contributors list click on "all members" and scroll down on that list, looking for a heading "Former Members" under which there are 900 names.
