Bug Description
The stripe is of constant width across the screen (approx 1/3 of screen area) and appears first in GDM only to be followed in Gnome.
System is still fully functional except with only 2/3s of the screen area available.
It does not appear with tribes 4 or 5 and so is a recent regression. I have tested this by reinstalling tribe 4 successfully then upgrading only recommended updates.
Card is a 82815 CGC and uses the i810 driver with a Gateway EV700 monitor.
The screen resolution is 1024x768 at 75 hz which does not seem unreasonable for this card/monitor.
