Bug Description

Ubuntu 14.04.1 32-bit
Desktop GNOME
TeXmacs: 1:1.0.7.18-1

The german letter "ß" (SZ ligature) is consequently not shown properly in german translated interface of TeXmacs as can be seen in the attached screenshot. It is presented as "ÿ" (Small Y with Diaresis). It appears in each menu.

Besides as also obvious in the screenshot german translation seems incomplete "Close document" should be "Dokument schließen"
I did not yet have time to check all menus and submenues for other missing translations.

Sincere greetings,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Looks like this needs to be reported upstream (http://www.texmacs.org/).

You can fix it for yourself by editing this file:

/usr/share/texmacs/TeXmacs/langs/natural/dic/english-german.scm

Hi Gunnar;

Thanks for the hint, I did not check all files yet, since I just installed TeXmcs yesterday.
It won't be my first provisorial fix and it defin itely won't be my last.

Thx a lot for quick and competent response,

Michael

okey, so we can't do anything other then report it upstream? Has someone already done this?

I did a short anonymous report, comparable to here, since I am not registered at Savannah.
It can be found here: http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?43438
I do not know if any further action or information is necessary.

Greetings, Michael

Well, it's technically possible to patch it, of course, while awaiting a fixed version from upstream.
