start of x264 generates error: libavresample.so.1 not found

Bug Description

x264: error while loading shared libraries: libavresample.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

is the error message after start of x264 with

x264 --preset=veryslow --crf=18 --sar=16:9 --output=video.m4v video.mpeg

x264 was installed via apt-get install x264 and should have pulled all necessary dependencies.

This sound a lot like an old library somewhere in /usr/local. Please attach the output of ldd -r /usr/bin/x264.
