dashboard takes a long time to load on IE8

I was trying to access openstack dashboard from a vm running on ovirt with windows 7 and IE8 installed.
It took over a long time for the page to fully be loaded (screenshot attached).
I tested firefox and chrome from the same vm and could access horizon with no issues.

I installed IE9 and getting the same thing

While I don't have IE9 installed, getting to the login page on IE10 takes about the same amount of time as Chrome on my WIndows 7 system (about 2-3 seconds).

Can you provide some more information, such as:
- what screens / operations are you using that is taking so long? (your screenshots appear to be just the login page)
- how much time is it taking?
- what is the value of COMPRESS_ENABLED in your horizon settings?

BTW, IE8 is not supported (https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Horizon/BrowserSupport), but IE9 is.

The issue is caused because of the compatibility mode = off mangles the page.
However, the community decided that comparability mode should be off since when it's on it mangles the rest of horizon after log in.

Are you suggesting that there is no performance issue when using IE9 in compatibility mode? I have tried IE10 both with and without compatibility mode, and I see no performance issues in either when loading the login page (although things look mangled in compatibility mode).

Please provide the information requested in the earlier comment so that someone can reproduce the problem. Otherwise we can't help you. Thanks

I am suggesting that compatibility mode = off mangles the page and it seems as if the page is not loaded.
