Bug Description

Binary package hint: sabayon

I'm running Ubuntu Feisty here with all current updates. The version of Sabayon is

# dpkg -l sabayon
ii sabayon 2.18.1-0ubuntu1 system administration tool to manage GNOME desktop settings

I noticed a couple of this. Especially, when you create a new user, who never logged into gnome before. I do the following things in this particular order

1) Create User Profile with Sabayon
2) Do a couple of changes including

 - Different wallpaper
 - Changed a couple of Firefox Bookmarks and set a different homepage
 - Added a couple of Applets to the Panel, e.g. Tomboy
 - Modify the Applicationsmenu
 - Use different theme (Clearlooks)

3) Save this profile
4) Create a new user
5) Inside Sabayon configure this new user so that he uses the new profile
6) Log out, Log back into gnome with this new user

Working
 - Theme
 - The modifications inside the application menu
 - The new firefox homepage is set

Not Working
 - Still using the standard feisty wallpaper
 - My new Firefox bookmarks are not included
 - Applets are missing

7) Log out, Log back in again with new user -> The background image, which has beend choosen inside Sabayon is now activ

I have the same problem in Ubuntu 8.04.1; Sabayon only half works.

(Wallpaper, bookmarks and applets do not change)

I guess that this can be a timing problem. Gnome has started before all file modifications done in Sabayon has been applied.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
