Bug Description

The system hang on "Log in" screen when performing suspend in Ubuntu 14.04.
When issue occurred,Keyboard/Mouse not respond. Press power button once also no response.
Need to shutdown system via long press power button.

HW Configuration:
CPU:Core-i5-4690S 3.2G GT2 HSW 1150 65W /CM8064601561312
DIMM1:N/A
DIMM2:Kingston 698651-154 DDR3-1600, PC3L-12800,8GB, UDIMM (4Gbit die) /HP698651-154-KEF

System may sometimes hang on suspend. When this happens, although it still shows light-locker on display, the system stops responding. Most of the time this will happen within 5 times of s3 test,

The issue can be reproduced with an Asus ML248H ( http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/ML248H/ ) connected via D-Sub. and ViewSonic VS15562 but can not with Benq E2200HD LCD

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.18 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
